The further adventures of Travis Touchdown are coming to the PlayStation 3. No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise is coming to the PS3 in North America, bringing PlayStation Move support along with it. This time, it will be Konami who's responsible for publishing Grasshopper Manufacture's high-res port of the Wii original. They'll do so in North America in 2011, when No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise comes to Sony's console—and not Microsoft's.

Ubisoft published the first two No More Heroes games in North America for the Wii, but passed on the opportunity to do so for the hi-def console port that hit Japan earlier this year.

Ubisoft and pro snowboarder Shaun White's inventive skateboarding game is scheduled to launch next week, but it appears the PlayStation 3 version of Shaun White Skateboarding has hit a snag. It's been delayed. Updated with response from Sony. According to a retail memo obtained by blog Fist Full of Potions, a "big named retailer" writes that Ubisoft has issued a recall of Shaun White Skateboarding citing "quality issues." All copies are ordered to be returned to the vendor.

The memo, which appears to originate from Target, says that the Wii and Xbox 360 versions are not affected. The memo posted by Fist Full of Potions also indicates that a new version of the PS3 release will ship some time next week.

Other retail sources appear to lend credibility to the claim. The PlayStation 3 version of Shaun White Skateboarding no longer has a release date at GameStop.com. The game was updated with a "TBD" release date by GameFly. Best Buy's online store is no longer selling the PS3 SKU.

This fall has seen an unfortunate amount of delays for the PlayStation 3, with SOCOM 4, DC Universe Online, LittleBigPlanet 2 and Gran Turismo 5 all moving past their originally intended release dates.

Kotaku has contacted Ubisoft and Sony Computer Entertainment America for comment but has not received a response.

Update: SCEA has issued the following statement regarding the delay: "There was a manufacturing issue with a misprinted disc at Sony Computer Entertainment America and the wrong version of the Shaun White Skateboarding PlayStation 3 game was shipped to retailers. We're working with Ubisoft to correct the issue. New PS3 copies of the game will be shipped to North American retailers by Thursday, Oct. 28 and it will be available by that weekend."

Sony's PlayStation Plus service moves firmly toward "worth it" today, now that Ubisoft has extended the beta program for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood from "select" subscribers to "every" subscriber. Everyone in the PlayStation Plus camp should now be able to grab the game's multiplayer demo from the PlayStation Store. If you're hungry to play some Assassin's Creed Brotherhood right now, you might want to invest in the 3-month membership for the PlayStation 3's premium service, which will set you back $17.99.

If you'd rather simply wait, the game arrives on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 16.
A playable demo for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 will be released on PSN and XBLA on October 12, LucasArts has confirmed.

"The level focuses on the very beginning of the game, which takes in a secret cloning facility on the planet of Kamino," explains Lucas.
"Starkiller, told by Vader he is no more than a clone, becomes tormented by the memories of his past and escapes into the rain-soaked planet with Vader not far behind. Unleash the power of dual Lightsabers, over-top Force powers including the new Jedi Mind Trick."

Sounds cool. The full game will be out on Wii, PS3, 360 and PC on October 26.
DJ Hero 2
This week's European PSN update seems a bit anemic when compared to the beefy additions of the past few weeks, but that doesn't mean you should reserve your attention. There are big discounts on Modern Warfare 2 DLC, the release of Ferrari: The Race Challenge, a demo for DJ Hero 2, and "It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" finally makes it onto Rock Band.

What is a motion controller without nifty attachments that make it look like real life objects? Nothing, that's what -- a point driven home by CTA Digital's latest PlayStation Move accessories. The "Perfect Aim Pistol" gives your Move controller that firearm look and feel, while CTA claims it's also light enough to prevent dreaded light-gun fatigue. Meanwhile, the aptly named "Submachine Gun" offers a heftier military experience, housing both the Move and companion Navigation Controller; and it even features a removable stock and scope. The pistol and submachine gun can be pre-ordered on Amazon for $15 and $30, respectively.

Whether either trumps Sony's own, Earthworm Jim-style gun shell, well, that comes down to personal preference.
What game is the best of the best in this week's North American PlayStation Store update? There's plenty to choose from in this week's new batch of additions to Sony's PlayStation Network. Which will you choose? Alien Breed: Impact, Deadliest Warrior: The Game and Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: Cosmic Destruction lead the list of new games that you can pay to play, with a pair of PS One Imports joining them. Demos for some of those PS3 games are also available, alongside Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Topatoi.

Here's almost ten minutes of action from the PS3 Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer beta.

Launched yesterday, the beta features two gameplay modes, each of which supports up to eight players.
Wanted pits players against each other in a race to get the highest score by killing their assigned targets, while Alliance pairs up players and challenges them to fulfil various contracts.
Between January 1, 2004 and January 1, 2009, 696 gaming-related injuries were reported in the United States. How are gamers hurting themselves? Researchers from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia gathered together data on five years of gaming-related injuries in an attempt to identify how gamers are getting hurt while playing their games. Polling the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System, the researchers discovered that 696 injuries have been reported over the course of the five-year period.

And those were only the reported injuries.

Of those 696 injuries, 92 occurred while playing what the researchers consider today's modern, more interactive games. Of those 92, 76 were injured while playing the Nintendo Wii.

"Interactive video games are becoming increasingly more popular with a wide variety currently available," lead study author Dr. Patrick O'Toole wrote in an email to The Canadian Press. "These games are fun to play and differ significantly from traditional video games as the player must physically mimic movements in order to compete. Injuries sustained during these interactive games are likely to be similar to injuries sustained in real sports."

Indeed, the majority of interactive gaming injuries involved abrasions, sprains, and strains of the shoulder, ankle, or foot.

Of course, that doesn't mean that traditional gamers are safe. While Wii players are busy hurting their bodies, traditional control-pad using gamers are hurting their eyes, neck, and face. Of the reported injuries, all 65 seizures, eight cases of eye pain, and all but one neck injury occurred during traditional gaming.

I suppose it could be worse. I'm not seeing any report of gaming-related deaths, outside of those involving violent crimes. As long as we keep hurting ourselves but not killing ourselves, we should be good.

The findings are being presented today at the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and Exhibition in San Francisco.
