Thor grossed $437 million worldwide, and Marvel Studios has a public mandate to release two movies a year. 

In 2011 it was Thor and the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger. 

In 2013 it will be the superhero team-up The Avengers with no second release yet announced.

In 2013 we’ll get Iron Man 3 on May 3rd and Thor 2 later that Summer.

Through July 1-4 the Independence celebration will include some new DLC for Red Dead. 

No word yet on what the DLC includes but it could have some new multiplayer modes and custom characters that were hinted at E3.

Peter Molyneux has said that Lionhead is working on a “super secret second project” alongside Fable: The Journey.


He is however mum on the details of said project. The only thing that is mentioned by Molyneux is that this project is a new IP (intellectual Property).

Molyneux has been reported saying he is increasingly depressed and disappointed about the outcome of Fable 3 and that he is bored of how games are becoming too similar and boring.

I posted a few days previous to this news that Molyneux would either reboot Fable or start a new IP. Seems my guesses are correct. For Now ;)

It seems that Dex is collecting and bagging baby snakes that were found on the body. Of course, it's a message.

Respawn Entertainment releases its biggest sign that it's coming together as a studio with the launch of its website, complete with a blurry image, the first peek at its unannounced game.

Respawn was founded by ex-Infinity Ward leaders Vince Zampella and Jason West, who are still in a complicated lawsuit with Activision, who owns Infinity Ward. Unless a settlement is reached the trial could go to 2012.

"The concept was to have a large, creepy building where each floor served as a ring of hell, and Satan was in a chest freezer in the basement morgue. The concept was vague and lacked a clear protagonist and antagonist (hell is a force of antagonism, not an an antagonist itself), and by nature The Inferno was a passive, observational story, but something about it felt right. Can't really tell you why, but it did. After many days of soul searching, I decided, for better or worse, that this was the story I was going to pursue."

Sridhar Reddy has been in post-production on this indie horror film entitled Lilith for a number of months now. No release date is official.

Some Mythological Backstory
"Lilith is the first woman according to theological writings...both Adam and Lilith where made from sand or clay and where equals. She did not piss off god...she pissed off Adam as she refused to be subservient to him. Adam wanted someone that would be more dependent on him...and so asked god to banish her and he got a replacement wife made from his rib.
Lilith was then banished, and often seen as a negative creature/person...but in christian theology there is no basis for that. In Mesopotamian theology Lilith was often portrayed as a succubus type creature that would try to prey on Adam and Eve's children..and this is pretty much where our modern understanding of her as a bad guy comes from."

Ryan Cleary, the hacker arrested in Essex last week with possible links to LulzSec, has been granted bail.

The conditions of bail mean that Cleary must observe a curfew between 9 am and 7 pm and wear an electronic tag.

The 19-year-old can't leave his house without one of his parents and is not allowed access to the internet or possess any devices capable of going online.

Since his arrest, Cleary has been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome

Screen Junkies got a chance to talk to Captain America: The First Avenger co-writer Stephen McFeely about a possible sequel. Here are some highlights from the conversation:

Q: We know he comes into modern day for The Avengers, but is there room to go back to WWII?

SM: Well, our hope is that there is room and we’re negotiating how to do that now. The story will likely be in the present day. We’re experimenting with flashback elements for more period World War II stuff. I can’t say much more than that but we made it baggy enough to refer to more stories in the past.

Q: So you left gaps in Captain America 1 where you can always say something else was going on back then?

SM: Absolutely. He had more adventures than just the one you’re going to see in the movie.

Q: Do you know who the villain of Captain America 2 would be?

SM: It’s undetermined. I will pass that question, how about that?

Q: When would you be scheduled to work on a sequel?

SM: We’ve already made the deal so I was at Marvel last week. We’re talking and passing stuff back and forth all the time. They just sent me a big PDF file of comics.

The Supreme Court of the United States has sided with the videogames industry, declaring it the winner in the EMA (Entertainment Merchants Association) vs Brown case that has gone on for six years.

The vote in the case, which argued over the constitutional rights of a law which would have have governed the sale of videogames to minors, came in at a 7-2 ruling against California. 7-2 that is a surprising landslide number!

Now a lot of you who have been on ThePauseMenu for months now have heard this battle as Schwarzenegger Vs EMA. It was written by California senator Leland Yee and was passed into law by then-California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger back in 2005. Schwarzenegger’s name was removed from the case name after Jerry Brown took over as governor.

Ken Levine, the man behind Bioshock, points out that all of our freedoms derive from the right to express ourselves.

"Today, the Court brought the medium we love fully into that circle of freedom," he said. "And we move forward empowered, but also with a sense of responsibility that words have meaning. So we as creators will choose our words with respect, understanding their power. But no law will have the authority to choose them for us."

Now what can this mean for the future of gaming? Will we continue to see the same ratings and content or will publishers and developers try and push the envelope that has given them their freedom back? All I know is the Video Game Industry has won a major victory today!
