EA's press conference was yesterday and a lot was revealed, confirmed, and teased. Lets do this quickly and in swift detail.

Origin.com is the new hub for all things EA. Games, stats, achievements, trophies, friends, and all other records are tracked by Origin and can be viewed and compared to similar to that of RockStar's Social Club.

Need for Speed: The Run was the first out of the gate for EA. The new NFS title boasts better graphics with the FrostBite 2 engine, more explosions and collisions like that of Burnout, and a new feature; running. Yes thats right, NFS: The Run will actually make you run, jump, attack, twirl, and perform a bunch of QTE with many button presses.

Star Wars: The Old Republic showcased another montage of trailer bits, lightsaber action, and the massive saga laid out by Korriban's evil history and future. No gameplay footage, no details, just video of Jedi and Sith waging war to the backdrop of "Duel of the Fates" blaring from the stars.

SSX was shown off without the "graphic" subtitle "Deadly Descents." Not much was said except that the new game will allow you to ride down all of the world's real mountain ranges thanks to NASA Satellites. A cinematic trailer was full of avalanches, huge tricks, and a world covered in ice and snow. The release date was set for January 2012.

FIFA 12 and Madden 2012 were shown back to back and similar to past E3s the two biggest sports games in the industry followed the pattern of better graphics, better features, better gameplay. FIFA sports a new feature that intuitively knows where players are and when collisions occur the physics is spot on and uses body mass as a figure.

The Sims Social was revealed for FaceBook to allow players to "Play with Friends" in the aspect of using your own friends list in FaceBook as the basis for your Sims experience. Chat, play, and socialize.

Reckoning was unveiled by 38 Studios from Founder and former 2-time World Series Winner Kurt Shilling. This game is made up of three very Iconic people.
Ken Rolston was the writer for both Morrowind and Oblivion of the Elder Scrolls franchise.
Todd McFarlane was the creator of Spawn and is an iconic figure creator, artist, and media figure head.
R.A. Salvatore is a legendary author of The Forgotten Realms and The DemonWars Saga. His mythos and fanbase has made his name notorious at conventions like Comic-Con.
Release in 2012.

OverStrike was teased by Insomniac Games and the best way to describe this new entry in the Brothers in Arms franchise is: "A re-imaging of the Brother in Arms world scaled to a visual similar to Team Fortress and an atmosphere like Inglorious Basterds."

Battlefield 3 was the last mention of the conference with a stunning gameplay demo. DICE using the Frostbite 2 engine showed a short dubstep infused logo of Battlefield 3 in a teaser trailer and went on to describe that the Open Multiplayer BETA will be available for download in September. No subscription for online play required and that the release will be on October 25, 2011.

Nintendo has indeed announced their new console and again has stolen the show at E3.

505 Games has revealed a new modern shooter that will play with either Kinect or a traditional controller.

The newly announced Blackwater will follow the private security company through a fictional story about a team of Blackwater operators protecting a North African town.

The unusual and interesting takeway with Blackwater is how players will be able to use Kinect to play the entire experience, from moving around the field to aiming and firing your weapon. Players can also use a standard controller.

No visuals have released for the game yet, but it will be interesting to see if the team developing the game at Zombie Studios can make a robust shooter without the need for buttons or sticks. We have to admit to being a little skeptical, but anything is possible, and we're always interested in new gaming experiences.

Hopefully we'll get some more word on how the game is shaping up from the E3 show floor.

Last year Sly 4 was teased in an unlockable video in The Sly Collection with no official word ever since. At Sony's press conference today, Sly's latest adventure was officially announced.

A cartoony teaser trailer revealed that Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be available in 2012.

With the promise of more fluid combat, vicious melee attacks, tougher enemies and a nimbler Commander Shepard, Mass Effect 3 is shaping up to be the game Bioware says will be definitive Mass Effect experience. "Mass Effect was always designed as a trilogy," Bioware game director Casey Hudson told a gathering of press, "and Mass Effect 3 is the main event."

That means an overhaul of the combat, cover and mobility in the game, reworked enemies and weapons and new customizable powers.

It also means a different sort of narrative backdrop.

Where Mass Effect 2 was loosely structured around a Dirty Dozen storyline, its sequel will take a step back and have you gathering not individual members for a team, but commodities for the war effort.

"The large scale story and even the little missions, the little friendships you accumulate during the game contribute to the overall war effort," Hudson said. The greater you do the better your chance of success."

Mass Effect 3 will be about the galactic war that the game has been moving toward for two titles now.

You knew it was coming. You probably knew, with a great deal of certainty, what it was called and most of its capabilities. It's finally official, though: PlayStation Vita is on the way for less than $300.

Sony also announced that it would be partnering exclusively with AT&T for 3G wireless data (and was booed by the E3 audience for its trouble). A WiFi-only model will also be available.

Sony hopes PSVita owners will connect with one another with two services: Party and Near. Party looks like party-based voicechat from the glimpse at the press conference, so no surprises there. Near is a social tool that allows gamers to recommend content, compare trophies, and do other undefined social-type things with other nearby PSVita owners.

PlayStation Vita launches worldwide at the end of this year. U.S. gamers will be able to pick the system up for $299 for the 3G model, or $249 for the Wi-Fi version. Wireless data prices have yet to be announced.

The stats:
  • Multitouch five-inch OLED display
  • Dual analog sticks
  • Sixaxis motion detection
  • Rear touchpad
  • Enough hardware to run the amazing Uncharted software being shown live at the press conference
  • 3G and WiFi models
  • Social tools
Stay tuned for much more on PlayStation Vita, including hands-on impressions from the GI staff here in Los Angeles, as the week goes on.

We never expected BioShock Infinite to incorporate motion controls -- and neither did Irrational's creative director Ken Levine. However, after admitting his skepticism during Sony's press conference, Levine announced that Sony's motion controller has won him over and will be featured in the developer's upcoming shooter.

Levine didn't announce any specifics about how Move will be utilized in BioShock Infinite, saying that the studio is just starting to wrap their head around the controller's capabilities. However, it sounds like it won't be a simple gimmick, which is what Levine originally criticized the motion controller for. Sony responded by calling him up and asking for a chance to "make him a believer," which is where the eventual partnership came from. Given the creativity Irrational has exhibited in the BioShock series, we're interested to see what the developer comes up with. Levine also hinted that the developer has another game in the works for the NGP, but didn't give any hints as to what the game might be.

As an added bonus, Sony revealed that BioShock Infinite will also include BioShock 1, thanks to the system's Blu-Ray capabilities.

Microsoft concluded its E3 2011 press conference today with a quick first look at Halo 4, which president of interactive entertainment business Don Mattrick says is the beginning of a new trilogy.

The video begins with a panicked Cortana yelling for John to wake up. After a minute of frantic pleading, a stasis chamber opens and Master Chief emerges. He is greeted by a ship in its death throes, flames and explosions bursting from every angle. Master Chief activates the thrusters in his boots, allowing him to navigate through the zero gravity environment. This section reminds me of Isaac Clarke’s flight segments through Dead Space 2. The video was dark and gorgeous, and seeing Master Chief back in action is a definite treat.

The video concludes with a zoomed-out shot of the flaming ship hurtling towards a shrinking opening in what appears to be an even larger construct. We’re left wondering whether the doomed vessel ever escapes the closing hatch.

Halo 4 marks the beginning of a new trilogy in the legendary FPS series. It appears Master Chief’s story is not yet over. Perhaps he’ll stay around for the next three games?

The New Xbox Experience is coming this Fall and it will include a lot.
Xbox Live TV is one of the biggest announcements at E3 and it is all revolving around Kinect.

First off YouTube is coming to Xbox Live. That in itself is a huge reveal and something that many people were assuming at last year's E3.
Secondly BING is also anchoring the new Xbox Live with Voice Search. No more cycling through all the games, movies, add-ons, etc. Now you can talk to Kinect and categorize everything quickly and easily.

Microsoft's New Mantra; "You Say It, Xbox Finds It."

Xbox Live TV is being based on Canell, Foxtell, and Sky TV and will broadcast straight to your 360.

UFC is also coming to the 360 with an innovative way of watching MMA. Watch UFC events live with your friends and gain achievements like "Watched 50th knockout," and you can wager on events to see who called the matches.
