The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim's latest DLC pack, Dawnguard, was only just released on the PC, and is still absent from the PS3, but rumors are swirling indicating Bethesda is already working on the next content pack for Skyrim, called Hearthfire. ThePauseMenu reported that Bethesda filed a trademark for Hearthfire in May but had declined to comment about it.
The official paperwork filed with the USPTO describes the filing as a, "Computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices." I dare say we're on to something here!
Since Bethesda won't add any insight to Hearthfire, but Elder Scrolls lore, Hearthfire is a month, and is considered to be the beginning of fall. It's equivalent would be September. According to The Elder Scrolls Wiki,
the 3rd of Hearthfire is the day of Tales and Tallows, "a celebration of Necromancy. Many citizens fear this day, and avoid the streets."
Necromancy is always a good theme for DLC, just think about Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare. It doesn't take too much imagination to speculate the next DLC pack will revolve around the undead, bringing humans or creatures back to life, or their common name: zombies. Skyrim already has its share of reanimated dead with the Dragur, and conjurations spells like
Reanimate Corpse.
Bethesda may very well be developing the Hearthfire DLC to line-up with the
Halloween season. Do you think the nextSkyrim DLC
pack will be about zombies?
