EA CFO Eric Brown, speaking at the Citi 2011 Tech Conference today, mentioned the impressive number for DICE's upcoming military juggernaut. According to Brown, BF 3's prospects are even better than its predecessor, Bad Company 2. "To date we have about 1.25 million preorders on Battlefield 3, so it's still well ahead of its predecessor title, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, in regards to preorders in the same number of weeks till launch. So it's doing very well," Brown said.

At The Disco, Coheed and Cambria, and Daughtry are coming together to produce an eclectic mix of music inspired by the Caped Crusader. We're sure that Batman: Arkham City will continue the cool in-game atmospheric music that was so successful last time around, but a second musical project beyond the soundtrack promises to be quite different. Batman: Arkham City -- The Album is a brand new selection of 12 musical tracks by some current big musical artists. Each of the songs on the album is inspired by Batman in one way or another. The album will release on October 4th, in advance of the October 18th release of Batman: Arkham City. The collector's edition of the game will include a full download code for the album, including one extra track. “I write in a very conceptual format with the stories that surround Coheed and Cambria, but Batman has a much larger, defined history and rules that go along with it," said Coheed and Cambria's Claudio Sanchez regarding the band's song on the album. " My goal was to find universal themes from Batman’s existing history to help give the lyrics legs and dimension so that the song could live within that world.” Check out the full track list: 1. Panic! At The Disco - Mercenary 2. Coheed and Cambria - Deranged 3. The Duke Spirit - Creature 4. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Shadow On The Run 5. Blaqk Audio - Afterdark 6. Bethesda has released some pictures that might temper your enthusiasm. Behold, the Dragonborn statue. The statue, as shown on the company's Facebook page, features the horned character wielding a big ol' sword. Before you get too excited, you should know that these bad boys aren't for sale. They'll be shipped to retailers worldwide, where they can be climbed on, rubbed, and adorned with wacky hats. Don't give up hope entirely, though. It would be surprising if Bethesda didn't reserve one of these things for a community contest of some sort or another. But we've been surprised before. Click "Read More" to see the entire list of the leaked list of achievements/trophies from Batman: Arkham City! {VG247} It didn’t take fans long to crack the Deus Ex ARG to find out about the upcoming “Missing Link” DLC, and it took even less time for Square-Enix to confirm it and put a date on it. As we reported yesterday, Deus Ex fans sliced through Square Enix’s ARG with ease, and now Square Enix is confirming all of their findings. They’re now saying that the DLC “Missing Link” will arrive in October. It will be a chance to re-spec for players unhappy with their character build. Players will start with no augmentations at all and will have to rebuild as they go. Square Enix wrote on their official site, “After being tortured by Belltower agents and having his augmentations disabled, Adam Jensen must rely solely on his basic capabilities to escape from a freighter, destined for an unknown location. While fighting for his survival on the ship, he uncovers another layer to the conspiracy that he never would have suspected.” New environments and characters are expected in the forthcoming content pack. {VG247} I'm not sure why it's considered so, but anytime I see the word "leaked" in the title of an article, it grabs my attention. I assume this is from a panel that didn't allow cameras, but somehow this guy got very decent footage of some badass gameplay for the PC version of Borderlands 2! Black Ops map packs are selling through the roof. Also, surprise of the century, Activision is raking in money by the truckload. Activision Blizzard reported today that they raked in a whopping 1.7 billion USD during the 12 month period ending in June 2011, representing a 22 per cent increase over the year before according to Gamasutra. Black Ops and Blizzard’s brands continue to generate enormous income, as usual. One of the more notable successes of Acti-Blizz’s report is that the Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack sold an incredible 18 million copies at $15 a piece. They triumphantly touted that the average Black Ops customer is now paying $76 per purchase (game + DLC). {VG247} Do you need to brush up on your Uncharted history before the third installment from Naughty Dog hits in November? Sony's got you covered with the Uncharted Dual Pack. Unsurprisingly, the package contains dual games: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. It will also include a voucher for all of the downloadable content from the second entry's Game of the Year edition. Best of all, the whole thing only costs $40 and comes out next Tuesday. You might have to clear your calendar next week for some last-minute treasure hunting. {GameInformer} |
