While we heard rumors a couple of months ago about Dead Space 3, a new bit of gossip making the rounds suggests that the sequel may not be the only Dead Space product that EA has in store for us.

Kotaku reports from an unnamed "insider" that an executive shake-up that almost led to Dead Space 3's cancellation has instead led the publisher to begin looking for ways to expand the horror franchise. The ideas supposedly being pursued include a Dead Space first-person shooter, a Dead Space flight combat game, and a Dead Space adventure game described by Kotaku as "Uncharted in space."

Of course, Dead Space 3 is also apparently still in the works. Kotaku reiterates earlier rumors that the sequel will be set on an ice planet. It will also supposedly feature co-op and will be the last game in the series to star Isaac Clarke.


Electronic Arts' massive shooter just keeps on selling.

CFO Eric Brown announced during today's Baird Technology Conference in San Francisco the game has now sold 8 million copies to date. This is up from the 5 million EA sold during the game's first week on sale in late October.

Brown continued to say the publisher has now shipped 12 million copies of Battlefield 3. It shipped 10 million in the first week for comparison. A per platform breakdown of sales was not provided.


Talks about the Bioshock movie have been going on for what seems like ages. Sadly, I don't think we will actually see a full motion picture based off this revolutionary video game, but we can thank our friends at TheBioshockMovie for bringing the spotlight back onto this game-to-movie concept!

It's just been announced that GamePro magazine, which launched in 1988, will cease publication as a standalone entity next week on December 5. 
As first reported by IndustryGamers, both the magazine and website are being shut down, with the following text running on GamePro.com as of today:

Thank you for your loyalty, support, and participation in the GamePro.com community. At noon on December 5, 2011, the U.S. version of GamePro online will shut down as an independent site. 

GamePro will become part of PCWorld.com offering gaming news, reviews, and how-tos from the PCWorld team. Thank you to the entire GamePro staff for their hard work and dedication.

GamePro was likely your first gaming magazine to pick up and read because of its entertaining writers and the vast amount of knowledge released from the ever-growing video game industries.


Bethesda issued a statement on their blog about the new patch for all systems but mainly for the PC and PS3.

"Update: PS3 update is now available in North America

Today we’ve begun rolling out Skyrim’s 1.2 update for PlayStation 3 (labeled 2.01 on PSN). The update is already available for users in Europe and we will let you know as soon as it’s up in North America. Our current ETA for Xbox 360 and PC players is this Wednesday, November 30th.

So what does the new update cover? Details below…

Rather than adopting one of the many memory card formats readily available on the market, Sony is launching a special proprietary format for use in the PlayStation Vita. A format so magical it'll run you anywhere from $29.99 to $119.99 at GameStop.

GameStop is currently listing four models of the proprietary card for preorder, starting with the $29.99 4GB type and increasing on up to the massive $119.99 32GB model. 
That's $3.75 per gigabyte.

For those wondering why Sony couldn't use popular memory types, I do not have an answer, but this could be a bad decision for the PS Vita.


“John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
- The lead will be a 30 something black man 
- GTA V will be four times bigger than GTA IV, with settings including countryside, a forest and beaches. It apparently takes as much as 15 minutes to get from the centre of the game's city to the forest on its outskirts. Tasty. 
- The game features all new animations and visuals, which will mark a big improvement on those found in GTA IV. 
- Responsiveness has been greatly improved. 
- There are more than 100 important, or semi-important non-playable characters. 
- There are no children in the game, and apparently there never will be.
 - Animals will feature in the game environment for the first time. 
- Players can choose to hijack planes. 
- Cars need to be refuelled. 
- Players can blow up cars by shooting a trail of gasoline. 
- You can use random civilians as a human shield. 
- The weather will affect gameplay. 
- Social mini games are gone, but games like basketball and weight training are necessary to build player stamina. 
- You can take part in underground cage fights and arm wrestling competitions. 
- Your character's skills controlling vehicles will improve with experience. 
- You can make home made weapons. 
- You can lock doors and barricade yourself into buildings. 
- Cops will use tear gas, attack dogs and riot gear among other items. Pursuits will be more realistic. 
- Weapons available include remote mines, flamethrowers, trip wires, claymores, swords and axes. 
- The game will feature large scale interior environments which include shopping malls, hospitals, police stations and sprawling underground sewers.

The details above are not confirmed so please take all this with a grain of salt.

The Daily says that Microsoft is looking to “aggressively push the Kinect into as many living rooms as possible,” including those without an Xbox 360.

MS is apparently in the early stages of licensing the tech out to Sony and Vizio.

If Kinect was to be introduced for TVs, it would likely be for gesture-based TV control, according to The Daily, with the TV itself aiming to “network with local PCs running the next version of Windows.”

Such a move would apparently put Microsoft in battle between Google TV and Apple’s rumoured TV project, which has been rumoured recently for a 2012 or 2013 release with Siri support.
