First off I have to say that this Avenger-Initiative-Plot-ClusterFuck has got to be one of the most engrossing, entertaining, and wealthy stints in media to date. Combining the films of Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, and the upcoming Captain America with the eventual Avengers Film. I am a fan.

If your Nordic Mythology is a bit rusty, THOR is a great way to brush up on the myths. Thor is a great warrior story of the god of thunder portrayed by the Nordic looking Chris Hemsworth. Anthony Hopkins portrays his father Odin, the leader and protector of Asgard. Tom Hiddleston steals the film as Loki, the god of mischief. And rounding out the main cast is the reoccurring face of Padme Amid...i mean Natalie Portman.

The story was intense in showing the alternate reality of Asgard vs Earth but I felt the film was lacking because it tried to involve humour into the plot. It may have worked in Iron Man but i believe Thor's tale is a bit more adult. The visuals were nice and chilly, with a good portion of the film being placed in Yodenheim, the home of the Frost Giants. The action was great and the fight scenes between Thor and Loki were filled with emotion and enthusiasm.

The film is a good edition to the plethora of Avenger material that will be released until the final film is in theaters. I give Thor a 4/5.

+ Nordic Mythology is always a winner
+ Avenger Initiative and Marvel Lore is highly entertaining
- I would not have chosen Natalie Portman for this role
- Stop with the comedy
? Will Loki be a key enemy in The Avengers ?
