Picture
Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World is a fantastic adventure. You follow Scott Pilgrim a bassist for a band of friends who just isn’t comfortable with his life at present until he meets “her.” Falling in love he finds out that his love interest has a difficult past and to gain her heart he must fight and defeat her seven evil exs. Based on the comic book of the same name Scott Pilgrim must overcome all for love and win the love of his soul mate.

This film flowed seamlessly from beginning to end with spunk and joy. Video game references, parodied superheroes, romance, drama, comedy, and fight scenes made this movie enjoyable at every minute.

Character portrayal was spot on and the awkwardness of Michael Cera hasn’t grown old yet. Supporting cast was perfect and the comic relief was nice. Dialogue was snappy, straight to the point, and fun to listen to. Visuals were bright and the film should win awards for the creativity of some of the scenes and how the story was completed with on-screen help; subtitles, video game-like HUD, and comic book style screenplay.

This movie is re-watchable and definitely not a disappointment. Perfect date movie for gamers and overall a fun movie that brings smiles. Not to mention Michael Cera learned to play bass and actual plays within the movie.

Stay Clear of this movie if:

-you hate happy endings, video games, and Michael Cera

-Clichés

- you prefer realistic story and action

Watch this movie if:

-you loved the comic book

-enjoy great visual action and creative screenplay

-you need a good date movie and/or you’re feeling down

Final Verdict- 5/5
