It's the first day of December, and people across the globe are preparing themselves for holiday festivities. Why not get yourself in the spirit of the season with a few selections from today's PSN update, like Dead Nation? Oh, no, wait. That won't do. What about that demo for CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Fatal Conspiracy? Hm, that's not particularly cheerful either, is it? How about you blow up some more dudes in new in interesting ways with that Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage DLC? This ... this is going to be a weird month.

{posted by Will} More news is coming out about the PSP2, although Sony is the only one not saying a word about the device yet. A patent application from the company gives even more credence to the rumor that the handheld will have a touch pad on the back of the unit. The application, uncovered by akihabaranews, is for a "Hand-held Device With Two-Finger Touch Triggered Selection And Transformation Of Active Elements" [sic] and it would let you operate what you see on the screen via a two-fingered touch pad on the backside of the device. While this may take a little getting used to for the user, it means you'll no longer have your giant mitts obscuring the screen when you have to select or control something on it. You also won't be getting your dirty candy hands on the front screen either, which we hear is a full inch bigger than the current PSP screen. {Source: GameInformer} My Thoughts: Enough with the rumors, just releasethe damn thing! {posted by Will} I just posted a story about Microsoft's solid Black Friday deals a couple of hours ago, but PS3 and PSP owners shouldn't feel left out. Sony is going to be giving up some similarly enticing price cuts for the holiday. Topping the list are some PSP offerings: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Dante's Inferno for a mere $19.99. Dissidia: Final Fantasy and Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake will be available for only $9.99, and Groovin' Blocks will be on sale for $4.99. Keep in mind that these are for the PlayStation Network downloadable versions of these titles; retail prices may not match these cuts. In terms of regular PSN titles, Joe Danger, DeathSpank, Gundemonium Collection, and Top Gun will all have their normal $14.99 price tags cut in half to $7.49. PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap will also be available at half-price -- $3.49. Finally, even the already cheap PlayStation Minis will be getting reduced pricing. Field Runners will drop to $3.49, Monopoly, Hero of Sparta, and Young Thor will hang out at $2.49, and Alien Zombie Death will be a paltry $1.99. This sale will begin tomorrow, November 23, and all the prices listed should be available until next Monday, November 29. Personally, I'm going to take this opportunity to finally pick up Joe Danger, since I somehow missed out on it this summer. What are you going to check out? {Source: GameInformer} Okay, gang. We've seen what the other, non-video game-oriented retailers will have to offer next week during the holiday shopocalypse known as Black Friday -- now let's see what the big dog has to show. GameStop's catalog of doorbusters and all-day deals recently arrived online, detailing the post-Thanksgiving bundles, discounts and freebies being offered by the ludological retailer. There's a lot to soak in, but here's some highlights. Check out a scan of GameStop's full list of offers in the gallery below!
