While the vault hunters of the first Borderlands may not have featured much in the way of narration, it definitely mattered which of them you picked. Each class came with a different play-style and skill tree, from the proficient sniper Mordecai to the heavy weaponry and brutal melee attacks of Brick. Borderlands 2 will place players in the shoes of four new characters, and Gearbox revealed one of them to us during our recent cover trip. Salvador belongs to the new Gunzerker class, and all signs point to him being a versatile and entertaining character selection. Read on to see what you can expect from this new addition to the franchise. {GameInformer}

A month and a half has passed since the cult-classic game, Duke Nukem Forever, hit stores. While critics bashed it, gamers praised this game that took 15 years to develop. Due to the great fan reception, 2K Games and Gearbox Software are releasing a DLC pack entitled "Hail To The Icons Parody Pack". This add-on comes packed with four new maps, three new modes, and a few new weapons. The new maps being released are as follows: •Call of Duke- A modern day cityscape, poking fun at the popular Modern Warfare series. This map features a new weapon named the n00b t00b, which is just a fancy term for a grenade launcher. •2Forts1Bridge- A Team Fortress 2-esque map, which features a brand new minigun, a nod at the iconic character for Team Fortress. •Inferno- Duke gets some 16-bit history thrown on him as he's put into a map full of lava and teleporters. •Sandbox- Players take to the sand while they battle as Mini-Duke inside a playground sandbox. Two bases are setup on either side, constructed of children's toys. This map features the last of the new weapons, the sticky grenades! Developed by Gearbox Software, Borderlands 2 will be released in the twelve months that follow April 1, 2012 according to 2K Games. Borderlands 2 will release on PC, 360, and PS3. A 2K release said: "Combining invention and evolution, Borderlands 2 features all-new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment, which come together in an ambitiously crafted story. Players will reveal secrets, and escalate mysteries of the Borderlands universe as they adventure across the unexplored new areas of Pandora. Environments will be more diverse and enemies will be smarter, says 2K, plus Gearbox is planning an improved mission system "capable of delivering a better story". |
